The Wednesday Memory Group

by | 17 September 2024 | Retford, Support Group

Imagine a beautiful, sunny, summer afternoon in the countryside, surrounded by shady trees. You’re seated under an elegant awning, with friends close by and a few friendly faces you haven’t met yet. The tables are laid for afternoon tea, and a singer is performing some of your favourite songs. Before long, some of your friends are up and dancing to the beat.

When the singer announces that it was his last song, the dancers shout for more. The singer obliges with two more songs before stepping down, and then the ladies arrive, carrying three-tiered plates filled with sandwiches, tarts, and scones – a classic, elegant afternoon tea.

This wasn’t a dream. This was exactly how the Wednesday Group spent a sunny afternoon in late July.

They were invited by the Kilton Feel Good Memory Group to join in a celebration of summer, friendship, and hospitality. It was a wonderful idea, beautifully executed. At the end of the event, everyone expressed how much they had enjoyed it. The Kilton Memory Group holds its regular meetings at the clubhouse of Kilton Forest Golf Club.
