Retford Art Society has its AGM on Thursday 7th March at 6.00pm in St Saviour’s Community Centre. There are changes to discuss, not least the Spring Exhibition, so the committee is hoping for the support of all interested members. Light refreshments will be provided.
Once more the Society has managed to hold membership fees at £30.00 for a full year of activities, and they are now due.
The Society has its first all day workshop on Saturday 30th March, 10.00am to 3.00pm at St Saviour’s Community Centre. It is to be run by Heather Burton and her subject is Figurative Painting using a palette knife. The cost is £25.00 for members and £30.00 for non-members.
Regular art sessions in the Swan Studio will be held as usual, under brilliant new lighting. They are on Tuesday evenings, 7.00pm to 9.00pm, and Friday afternoons, 2.00pm to 4.00pm. The Swan Studio is at the bottom of Carolgate, above the bike shop. Non-members are welcome to call in; materials and help are happily given.
The Swan is also the venue for life drawing. There are two upcoming sessions – 6th and 20th March, 7.00pm to 9.00pm.
The Society’s Spring Exhibition will be held at the newly refurbished and welcoming venue of Grove Methodist Church for two weeks from 27th April to 11th May. These dates include Charter Day, so a busy fortnight for the Society!
