At the first East Markham WI meeting of 2024, stylist Sue Burton explained and demonstrated ‘How to Look Good with Colour’. This well attended evening was fun and informative, with some surprises as Sue explained how the colour of clothing can enhance one’s natural colouring or do the opposite.
Afterwards Sue gave generously of her time answering group and individual questions. Marie gave the vote of thanks, after which the raffle was drawn and refreshments served.
On 20th February there was a Social Evening where members took part in a Tasting Test of a selection of food items, voting for their favourite. Other fun items and the raffle completed the evening as members chatted.
In March members will be celebrating 75 years of the WI in East Markham, at a 1940s / 50s themed Birthday Dinner with entertainment from 1940s vocalist Sarah Jane and a special birthday raffle. Members may, if they wish, wear something in the style of the period.
Women visitors and new members are welcome to the monthly meetings. The visitor fee is £5.00.
At the meeting on 16th April memberships will be renewed and new members are welcome to join.
