At the start of the year, Joan Reiter (after 25 years) and David Mowthorpe both decided to step away from the running of Sutton Art Group, although both will remain active members. Joan and David’s dedication over the years has resulted in the successful and supportive group which all members enjoy today.
The new team will be led by Lisa Rees, supported by Wendy Jarmen and Rachel Mansell.
On Sunday 7th May, Lisa Rees will coordinate a mini exhibition at the Sutton Village Hall Fun Day with a ‘Have a Go at Art’ opportunity for visitors to try.
On Monday 8th May the group will be holding a coronation exhibition in the church with the theme ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’.
On 24th and 25th June an exhibition of themed artwork will be on display for the Ukulele Jamboree at Worksop Town Hall.
The group is also looking forward to a ‘Plein Air’ painting experience when the weather warms in the Spring, another workshop with artist Derrick Spence on 11th August and the annual exhibition in November, details of which will be announced later in the year.
