The February meeting of the Bassetlaw branch of Parkinson’s UK was very well attended and, despite the speaker being unable to attend, there was much laughter and camaraderie together. Six new guests were warmly welcomed.
The next meeting is on Tuesday 1st March and will be the AGM, followed by musical fun with the very talented Jessica Brett. Nominations for committee members and volunteers are welcomed.
Meetings take place on the first Tuesday of every month at 2.00pm, at Worksop Cricket Club. New members are always welcome.
The branch programme of events is full and varied. The seated Pilates classes will resume soon, and the popular lunch club meets every two months at the Lockkeeper. Members will enjoy ‘Made in Dagenham’ performed by Worksop Light Operatic Society at the Acorn Theatre in May, and a lively celebratory outing is booked to celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in June. For more information about the branch and its many activities, call Chris Coldwell on 01909 730629.
There is a full life to be enjoyed despite some of the difficulties of Parkinson’s disease!
