In these days of gloom we could all do with a little pod of joy, kindness and love and that is this month’s make inspiration from Retford Textiles Group.
These storage pods are a delightful way to display basic stationery items, sewing materials, jewels or even for gifting to that special Valentine. Being reusable, they are also environmentally friendly.
Made from two circles of felt, they can be decorated with a variety of hand stitches, beads, stick on jewels or tiny buttons – mostly from your existing stash at home if you sew or craft. Using contrasting felt colours adds another dimension to your design, as does using felting which has texture.

Retford Textiles Group meets on the first Wednesday of the month at the Goodwin Hall, Retford. The group is made up of members from across North Nottinghamshire who have an interest in all activities related to textiles. They believe it’s best to learn through practical experiences.
