A spirit of optimism

Can it really be that time of year again? It doesn’t seem long since we were looking forward to last Christmas and expecting to be able to spend time together with friends and family – only to get dire warnings at the last minute about not mixing with others too enthusiastically. Even the limited contact we had was followed by a dreadful spike in COVID infections.
Since then things have eased considerably, and the local Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust group committee is feeling rather more optimistic about resuming some of its long-abandoned activities in the new year. It is seriously hoping to resume the programme of talks, covering a wide range of wildlife-related topics from air quality to pond life. These talks were very much appreciated, judging by the increasing numbers that turned up to meetings!
Speaking of meetings, they will be dependent on the state of the virus in January and will definitely be Covid-secure. The Trust wishes you all a Happy Christmas and looks forward to meeting up again and resuming some of its activities in next year.
