On Monday 1st November at 6.00pm, local writer Martin Jones (creator of British horror magazine BeDabbled!) returns to Retford Library to look at the work of world-renowned ghost-story writer MR James. The library is delighted to have Martin back with the promise of another informative and highly entertaining presentation.
MR James, who died in 1936, was renowned for his chilling tales of the macabre and the uncanny. Many of these stories have been turned into films and BBC dramas.
Martin will be looking at MR James’ stories, as well as considering the importance of James as a writer in the horror literary landscape.
This talk will be a must-see for fans of classic ghost stories. Refreshments are included in the £2.00 ticket price. Booking is essential.
