Edwinstowe and the Dukeries Lions Club

The Edwinstowe and The Dukeries Lions Club is working with Support Ukraine UK. Deliveries of donations have already begun and are ongoing. Spread the word on Facebook and all social media, and among friends, family and colleagues.
Some of the items needed are:

Medical items: over-the-counter medicines and painkillers, hand gel, vitamins, bandages, cough syrup, first-aid kits, foil body wraps, etc.

Food and drink: protein bars, instant coffee sachets, small packets of nuts and raisins, conserves in plastic jars, powdered soups, etc.

Toiletries: including wet wipes, body wash, toothpaste, tissues, sanitary towels, tampons, nappies, etc.

Clothing: including thermal vests and pants, balaclavas, shoe inserts, gloves, snoods, tights, thermal blankets, etc.

Tools: including spanners, socket sets, torches with batteries, dry bags, tow ropes, diesel generators, plastic utensils, etc.

In recent news, the Lions welcomed three new members: Kimberley Jones, Maria Pitrolino-Baranauskas and Jamie Baranauskas.

During March, the Lions had an evening where they were able to thank everyone who has helped in the last year and to showcase what a lot of caring people and organisations there are in our area.

  • Roundabout magazine and Edwinstowe Village News (apologies from Sherwood Life)

A speech was given on each of the above with a big ‘thank you’ to everyone for all the work they do in the community.

A speech was also given to all below and a big ‘thank you’ was given to all for their generosity and work in the build of the new Santa Sleigh:

Also present were Tony and June Chapman. Ex-Lion Tony was presented with a memento and a bouquet for June as a ‘thank you’ for his work at Christmas in an important role before he fully retired. Leo and Elaine Milner, also ex-Lions, were presented with a bouquet of flowers for Leo’s work at Christmas and to both for preparing the accounts.

Certificates of Appreciation were presented to Ella Jones, Jaxon Noon and Leyton Holmes from Parkgate Academy Ollerton for ROAR 2021 and to Brayden Sharpe for his brilliant work as the Chairman of the Junior Council.
