The Dukeries Community Band

The Dukeries Community Band is a community wind band comprising brass, woodwind and percussion instruments. New players are welcome to rehearsals to join in straight away or just to listen. The Band is always happy to have new players of any age and they don’t audition.

It doesn’t matter if you haven’t played for a while, or have started to learn fairly recently. The Band only requires that you can read music, want to improve, can attend rehearsals and are able to play in their concerts.

The Band would especially welcome more brass players ie trumpet / cornet, euphonium / baritone, French horn, trombone and tuba / bass players. Their talented and versatile saxophone players cover some of these brass parts extremely well, but it would be good to have the real thing.

However, if you are a woodwind or timpani player and are interested in joining, they would also love to hear from you at dukeriescommband@btinternet.com.

Dukeries Community Band concerts support the local community and charities. Their ever-increasing repertoire features pop to classical with lots in between, so there is plenty for everyone to enjoy.

They rehearse each Tuesday during term time at the Dukeries Academy, New Ollerton from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.
