As summer draws to a close and September begins, members of Ryton Chorale are looking forward to the new term.
Rehearsals start on Monday 1st September and are held at Holy Family School on Netherton Road, Worksop, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. New members in all voice parts are welcome. While some ability to read music is an advantage, anyone is encouraged to go along and see how they get on. A short probationary period is offered to help new members settle, with support available for inexperienced singers – though a little homework is essential.
The programme for their concert on Saturday 15th November will include Snow Angel, an ethereal work by modern Canadian composer Sarah Quartel, alongside other supporting choral pieces. The concert will take place at Worksop Town Hall.
It is also hoped to run another Come and Sing evening later in the term, with details to follow. The choir welcomes both individual and business support and operates a Patrons Scheme at £40.00 a year, which includes a ticket for each of the four concerts.
