Aurora is a local cancer charity providing support in Bassetlaw for people living with cancer or a long-term health condition. However, it is not just a cancer charity. As a community hub, Aurora provides a range of heritage and wellbeing activities that promote self-care, reduce isolation, and help people reconnect with their community.
Visitors can also enjoy the charity shop, tearooms, and Heritage Hub, which features local history displays and mini exhibitions throughout the year.
Spotlight on… fundraising
There are many ways to help raise funds to support Aurora! Whether by volunteering, fundraising, or donating, every contribution makes a difference. Organising an event – whether it be running a marathon, climbing a mountain, or simply hosting an afternoon tea – can help raise vital funds.
Support Aurora while shopping
It is even possible to support Aurora while shopping from home. EasyFundraising provides a simple and cost-free way to help: Sign up at www.easyfundraising.org.uk and every three months, Aurora will receive a donation based on supporters’ online shopping. For any questions, contact bassetlaw.admin@aurorawellbeing.org.uk.
New Amazon Wishlist!
Aurora has launched a new Amazon Wishlist, filled with items that will directly support the centre and its service users. This initiative provides a more hands-on way to support Aurora’s mission by allowing supporters to choose and donate specific items. From towel headbands (£7.99) to a heated clothes airer (£199.99), every contribution helps. To browse the list, visit: www.aurorawellbeing.org.uk/new-aurora-wellbeings-amazon-wishlist.
