NottAlone is a website sharing local mental health advice and links to free, local support services for people of all ages in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

On 19th September, they recognise Youth Mental Health Day. Young people’s mental health is something we’re passionate about all year round, but we know that back to school time can be especially tough for some so just remember, whatever you are going through, you are not alone.

On their website, you can find lots of helpful information, advice and links to free, local support services, as well as tailored advice for parents, carers, teachers and professionals working with children and young people to enable you to speak confidently to young people and signpost them to support for a range of mental health topics.

If you’re looking for more expert advice and real-life insights, The NottAlone Podcast has episodes on school attendance an anxiety, including Shova’s story of how she overcame it. You can also find episodes on neurodiversity and mental health, managing exam stress, eating disorder recovery, starting a mental health conversation, and lots more. Search The NottAlone Podcast wherever you listen to hear more.

September also marks World Suicide Prevention Day on the 10th and this year NottAlone will be working with Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council on a joint campaign that hopes to help break the silence on suicide. They want to reduce stigma, promote safe conversations around suicide and raise awareness of where local people can go to get help.
