Rock Choir in Gainsborough and beyond

Rock Choir brings weekly singing sessions to communities across Lincolnshire, including Gainsborough, Horncastle, Woodhall Spa, Boston, Spalding and Skegness. All are led by Rock Choir Leader Lulu Grainger, who has been leading choirs for the past two years.
“It’s the best job I’ve ever had,” said Lulu. “Each session is so uplifting – it brings so much to people’s lives and in turn makes me feel fulfilled. We’re all like a big family!”

Founded in 2005 by award-winning musician Caroline Redman Lusher, Rock Choir is the pioneering contemporary choir in the UK and celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. With over 33,000 members in around 400 communities nationwide, it offers an alternative to the traditional choir, focusing on feel-good pop, rock and chart hits.

In Gainsborough, Rock Choir has become more than just a singing group – it’s a place where people come together, form friendships, and experience the mental and emotional benefits that group singing can bring. There are no auditions and no need to read music, making it open to everyone.

The Rock Choir team includes more than 90 professional musicians and performers who lead rehearsals each week. The choir has appeared on numerous television and radio programmes, including BBC Breakfast, The One Show, Britain’s Got Talent, This Morning and Radio 2’s Michael Ball Show.

Rock Choir is also recognised for its fundraising efforts and was awarded the Red Ribbon ‘Big Heart’ Award for its generosity and community spirit. You may have seen local choirs performing in Gainsborough on Saturday 15th November at Marshall’s Yard during the Christmas Lights Switch-On event.
