The final round of the East Midland Racing Association (EMRA) Championship took place at Mallory Park, Leicestershire on Sunday 13th October. Retired Bassetlaw Police Sergeant John ‘Foxy’ Fowler was once again in attendance as a guest of The 1946 Marshals Association. Foxy had been asked to draw names from a hat and present prizes to the winners, the prizes being a Macau Grand Prix Track Official jacket and a Macau Grand Prix Admin’ Official polo shirt.
During the lunch break at the event Foxy delighted the crowd by emerging from the hospitality suite dressed in 1960s Nottinghamshire Police cape and helmet to give a speech and officiate at the prize draw. He commended the dedication of the Marshals to the sport of motorcycle racing.
He officiated at the 1946 Marshals Association prize draw, where two rare items of motorcycle racing memorabilia were won by Marshals.
