One for the Road at Willingham Village Hall

by | 19 November 2024 | Gainsborough, Performing Arts

This wickedly observant comedy by Willy Russell, the author of Educating Rita, Shirley Valentine and Blood Brothers, finds Dennis on the eve of his 50th birthday, making a last-ditch attempt to break away from the confines of his middle-class housing estate existence. Reaching breaking point at his birthday party, he packs a rucksack but will Dennis escape his urban nightmare?

Three performances of One for the Road will take place at Willingham Village Hall on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th November. Doors open at 7.00pm on the evening performances and 1.30pm for the Saturday matinee.

The local cast of four are: Ray Didcock, playing Dennis Cain; Kelly Nicoll, his long-suffering wife Pauline; Julie Holmes and Ed Panter, their friends Jane and Roger. Rebecca Andrews (DJ Alan, Lofty Turrets, Up Peristylium etc) is director.

Tickets cost £10.00 and may be purchased from Mary at clarkwillingham@btopenworld.com or by text on 07919 810430. Refreshment will be available and all proceeds will go to Willingham Village Hall.
