Threading Stories of the Past

by | 12 October 2026 | Community Focus, Local Experiences, Sherwood

Visit the National Holocaust Museum for a multigenerational family workshop. Everyone is welcome to ‘Threading Stories of the Past’ and no sewing experience is necessary – join the group to learn or show off your needlework skills.

The workshop will explore the life of Zdenka Husserl and other children who survived the Holocaust and travelled to a children’s home in England. While creating an embroidered patch, participants will thread together stories from the past and explore a tablecloth in the museum’s collection, embroidered by Zdenka and the children. The tablecloth is displayed in The Journey and can be viewed during a museum visit.

The workshop will run at 1.00pm on Tuesday 20th and Tuesday 27th October. Places are limited and booking is advised. The event is included with museum admission.
