Workhouse Players return to Gainsborough’s Old Nick Theatre from 27th to 31st August with a brand-new original play: The Leading Man, written by local Corringham writer Max Jones.

Barry Smith, divisive media personality and former 80s journalist, returns to Western Television where his controversial career began, to give his final TV appearance and interview.

All those sensational, attention-grabbing headline stories he wrote back in the day may have faded into history, but Barry soon learns the past doesn’t always just go away…

Go and see the talented cast of local actors and crew perform this funny, witty, thought-provoking play at The Old Nick Theatre, 31 Spring Gardens, Gainsborough DN21 2AY.

Tickets are on sale now; email workhouseplayers@gmail.com or call 07471 931618.

Please note that strong and discriminatory language throughout makes this play unsuitable for children.
