St Paul’s Church, Morton, has announced a concert by Scunthorpe Male Voice Choir on Saturday 19th September. It is three years since the choir’s last concert at the church, and its performances are always warmly welcomed by audiences.
Established in 1924, Scunthorpe Male Voice Choir continues to promote the virtues of male-voice choral singing in North Lincolnshire. Although chorister numbers have declined compared with previous decades, the modern choir continues to thrive. It has approximately 30 voices and remains one of the area’s leading musical groups.
In 2014, to mark 90 years since its formation, the choir recorded the CD 90 Years On at St Paul’s Church, chosen for its fine acoustics.
The concert will begin at 7.00pm, with doors opening at 6.15pm. Admission is £8.00, including light refreshments, and accompanied children are admitted free. Guest soloist Carolyne Storey will also perform.
