With the potential easing of restrictions in the coming weeks, Town Hall Live, Kirton is hoping to restart indoor concerts in August.
They have a great autumn programme lined up that will bring the best in Americana, blues and singer songwriter artists from Australia and the UK. Here is what they have booked:
Friday 27th August: Lachlan Bryan and The Wildes
Over the past five years Lachlan and the band, from Melbourne Australia, have built up a solid following in the UK and Europe. You can pin a multitude of labels on Lachlan’s music from rock, to folk, to alternative country to any other contemporary roots cliché you wish, but the bottom line is that he writes damn good songs. Dan Webster supports.
Friday 17th September: Hannah White and The Nordic Connections
A UK / Norwegian collaboration between the London based Hannah and the band from Bergen. Together they bring alive Hannah’s songs with an undoubted chemistry between the six musicians. Expect a mix of rocky upbeat numbers, reflective blues songs and sweet ballads.
Friday 8th October: Ross Wilson aka Blue Rose Code
A solo performance from Blue Rose Code’s Ross Wilson brings out the beauty and lyrical content of their music. It evokes a meeting of Van Morrison and a young John Martyn, with both men shipwrecked with a bunch of Motown records.
Friday 29th October: Elles Bailey
At last, the return of the UK Blues Artist of the Year Elles Bailey and her band. They play music that crosses boundaries, blending roots music with blues and soul. Elles has the talent for crafting and weaving these genres to give her music a contemporary edge.
Saturday 20th November: Gary Stewart’s Graceland
Gary and his band masterfully recreate the sound, energy and soul of Paul Simon’s Graceland album. Expect to hear those magical songs, distinctive vocals, harmonies and South African rhythms brought to life right in front of you for a magical concert and a great night out.
Saturday 11th December: Lauren Housley
A full band concert to promote Lauren’s latest album ‘Girl from the North’, which, as usual, features great songs and her usual soulful performance. Lauren has recently been a featured artist on BBC Radio 2 and the album has been warmly received across the UK press. The band last played THL in 2017 and their return is eagerly awaited.
Thursday 23rd December: An Evening with Wilson and Wakeman
What a way to end the year and to set us up for the holiday period, with a return for THL favourites Damian Wilson and Adam Wakeman. Damian is up there with the best vocalists in the country and Adam is a renowned keyboard player with Black Sabbath. Their previous concerts have been sell outs. This one will be no different, get your tickets early.
