Town Hall Live Kirton in Lindsey have just one concert in July, when Hannah Aldridge for Muscle Shoals, Alabama headlines on Friday 20th July. It is followed on Saturday 4th August with a concert from Eilen Jewell and her band from Boise, Idaho.
There are few artists that can truly capture the essence of America like Hannah Aldridge. With a sound ranging from blues, to the musical stylings of Muscle Shoals and Nashville, where she now lives, Hannah leaves no inspiration or influence untapped. Her music is at times introspective, celebratory, regretful, boisterous and gentle. It is American music dressed in rags not rhinestones. Her Alabama twang mixes with a rock edge and her songs are delivered with a burning intensity. As a performer, Hannah holds the audience in the palm of her hand, putting on a stunning show with her strong clear and emotion packed voice. Supporting Hannah will be fellow American Kate Ellis, whose timeless music reflects the love of classic songwriters. Kate’s songs have both a beauty and sadness to them.
Town Hall Live organisers feel extremely privileged that Eilen has chosen to come to Kirton, as on her last UK tour she sold out much bigger venues. Eilen Jewell is one of America’s most intriguing and creative songwriters. Fans marvel at her warmth, unique wit and onstage humour alongside her beautiful songs. It is hard not to become thoroughly entranced by her powerful and versatile musical stories and images. Over her recording career she has constantly switched genres, from contemporary folk, to country flavoured music and blues infused stylings and making them her own. Her gorgeous voice makes you feel that she is singing just for you. She does everything so well, not to mention her powerhouse band that accompanies her. It includes her husband Jason Beek on drums and percussion, Shawn Supra on bass and the scintillating playing of Jerry Miller on electric guitar.
