Town Hall Live (THL), Kirton-in-Lindsey, has two concerts in April. They are:
Gary Stewart’s Graceland
Friday 11th April
This spectacular seven-piece band, led by the legendary Leeds-based troubadour Gary Stewart, comes together to re-create Paul Simon’s landmark album Graceland. Gary and the band not only recreate the sound of the album but also the energy and soul that make the original album such a joy to listen to. Hear those magical songs with their captivating stories, distinctive vocals and harmonies, and South African rhythms brought to life right in front of you.
The band regularly sell out theatre venues across the country and recently played to an audience of 1,700 at the Barbican in York alongside Weetwood Mac. The THL concert is expected to sell out too, and tickets are already selling well.
Gary will kick the evening off with a solo set that highlights songs from his three solo albums. Then it’s Graceland. Let the singing and nostalgia take hold and imagine one is basking under the hot summer sun of South Africa.
Tara MacLean
Friday 25th April
Tara MacLean, from Prince Edward Island, Canada, can silence a room with her powerful, sensual voice or charm everyone she meets with her warmth. Tara has been captivating audiences around the world for 25 years with her soulful voice and poignant songwriting. She is also a poet, author, and playwright.
In 2022, she finished a three-summer season run with her hit theatre show Atlantic Blue – The Story of Atlantic Canada. In 2023, she released her best-selling book Song of a Sparrow and the accompanying CD Sparrow, and in 2024, she released her five-track EP Live in My Hometown. With her evocative delivery and relatable themes, both albums showcase Tara’s award-winning talent and invite the listener to reflect in rich, worthwhile listens.
