Town Hall Live in Kirton has just one concert in December as, on Saturday 9th December, The Robbie Cavanagh Band headlines.
Robbie, from Manchester, has just released his latest album Tough Love. The album was recorded live with the musicians he has toured and worked closely with. They are Tom Dibb (lead guitar), Robert Ruiz (bass) and Dan Wiebe (drums) and they will be performing with Robbie in Kirton.
A self-confessed devotee of ‘real music’, Robbie is not defined by genres. His rules are good musicians, real instruments and performing his songs with honesty and emotion. He sings with a clear and soothing voice and a gentle manner.
Robbie is a favourite of BBC’s Bob Harris, and was presented with the ‘Emerging Artist Award’ at last year’s Americana Music Awards in London.
Support will come from Pete Lambert, a singer songwriter from York. Pete takes his influences from folk and Americana music. His personal lyrics and heartfelt performances captivate audiences.
2024 promises to be another great year, with nine concerts booked up to June. The year starts with three great concerts.
Friday 19th January – Wilson and Wakeman
A return for Adam Wakeman and Damian Wilson after a two-year absence. The pair need no introduction to THL audiences, having played on three previous occasions. An evening of stories and stunning playing and singing from two of the UK’s most popular performers. (£15.00)
Friday 26th January – Good Lovelies
Good Lovelies, from Canada, are back in the UK and Kirton for the first time since 2019. In October Caroline, Kerri and Sue released their fifth full length album We Will Never Be The Same. It’s a return to their acoustic based platform, reaching back to their early days bringing real life stories to the fore. Live they are just stunning. (£16.00)
Friday 9th February – Campbell Jensen
Ashley Campbell, daughter of Glen, and Thor Jensen produce a unique musical genre. Ashley comes from the world of country and Americana, whilst Thor has a diverse background from playing rock and gypsy jazz. Ashley plays beautiful banjo and guitar and Thor is a master of the guitar and their voices blend perfectly together. (£16.00)
