This Girl’s Got Talent!

by | 6 October 2025 | Community Focus, Gainsborough, Group meeting

Over summer, several Girlguiding Lincolnshire North County members embarked on international trips, with Guide and Ranger groups getting away in the UK on international jamborees and others through individual selection.

Emily, a Ranger, went on an ICE trip – it wasn’t too chilly though, the unique international community experience was based in Edinburgh with a group of like-minded young women. Britain’s Got Talent… ‘eat your heart out’ because there is a lot or talent in Lincolnshire North County with this year’s winner of NorJam’s Got Talent, Maddy super-ceding last year’s place in the grand final at Larkin ‘24, and at Poacher ‘22 before that. Well done Maddy! I hear you ask what is NorJam? In short, a big camp for thousands of young people in Guiding and Scouting aged 10+ to have the time of their life in a safe space. Sing along now to Maddy’s NorJam camp version of Valarie by the Zutons: “Well sometimes I go out by myself, and look across the campsite, And I think of all the things I have done. Now come on over to the Carnival of fun, the carnival of fun at NorJam!”
