This girl…loves sleepovers!

At 1st Gainsborough Brownies and 2nd Gainsborough Rainbows, just like their weekly meetings, sleepovers have gone virtual! “So much more sleep for the volunteer leaders, just as much fun for the Brownies!” said the Unicorn Leader, Sparkle Shimmer, of 1st Gainsborough Brownies.
The theme: magical unicorns! Where else could Rainbows (aged five to seven) and Brownies (aged seven to 10) have a magical weekend filled with activities to earn a unicorn badge by discovering their own unicorn name, making their very own ride on unicorn and producing some unicorn poo out of the oven? Not to mention up-cycling things like milk bottles into mini unicorn storage pots.
Unicorn Leader Cookie Berry, of 2nd Gainsborough Rainbows, said enthusiastically: “The girls loved everything we did! We started before the first session with asking the Rainbows and Brownies to build a den and create their unicorn themed bunting. We knew the girls would love making their own unicorn to play on, and to make it a little bit more fun for them for the future, we invited their siblings to join in and make a unicorn too. Why have one unicorn when you could have two to race!”
One of the parents said: “They adore them (the unicorns) and play on them every night after school.”
The colouring competition was won by unicorns Rainbow Aurora and Brownie Dashing.
Girlguiding Gainsborough are slowly easing out of lockdown restrictions and beginning to meet face-to-face once more. They hope to see you joining in the fun, laughter and making friends soon.
