After many weeks of refurbishment, The Old Nick Police Museum will open its doors on 5th February. The refurbishment has taken place following only 15 months of opening, during which the museum has gone from strength to strength. There has been a continuous rise in visitor numbers and several and well received school visits and organised group tours have been held. During the weeks of closure, improvements were made to the buildings heating system and some of the 20 rooms have been redecorated. The exhibits and displays were not forgotten and they too have received a revamp.
Over the coming year the Old Nick team have continued and exciting plans for the museum. School visits remain a priority as the museum has a wealth of information to share and deliver to pupils of all ages. Evening tours which will include a supper are also on the agenda.
An extensive range of exhibits are on display in many of the 20 rooms open to the public and guided tours are on offer to give visitors that something extra. Hot and cold drinks and homemade cake are available in the tea room.
The Old Nick Museum re-opens on Tuesday 5th February at 11.00am and will be open every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday from 11.00am to 3.00pm, there-after.
