Delvers members, plus visitors, enjoyed a fascinating voyage of discovery down one of Gainsborough’s most ancient thoroughfares as their Blue Plaque Tours launched on 20th July.
The group met at the Parish Church and the tour was led by Darron and Thelma Childs.
The Delvers Blue Plaque trails have taken over 25 years to develop and highlight the faces and places that are of significant interest to the town. They are a unique and entraining experience!
The next tour is on Thursday 14th September – starting at The Butlers Pantry, Lea Park. All tours start at 6.15pm and last around 90 minutes. The charge is £4.00, payable on arrival.
Founder of The Delvers, Thelma Childs, said: “Delvers members, past and present, have made a significant contribution to recording the history of Gainsborough with this longstanding project.
