The Fine Arts Society meets at the Trinity Centre, Gainsborough on the first Thursday of the month (excepting July and August), starting at 1.45pm. A light lunch can be booked for £5.00, to be booked by the preceding Monday. For membership enquiries or to book a lunch, contact Barny Heywood on 07779 023122 or Visitors always welcome at £7.00.

The lecture in May was given by author, Eileen Goulding on ’Understanding Aboriginal Culture’. The indigenous population of Australia occupied their lands for over 60,000 years in relative isolation. This talk explored the discovery of their ancient traditions and how they have adapted to modern times since the arrival of British explorer Captain Cook in 1770.
There will be no meeting in June during the celebration of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee.
The final lecture, on 7th July, before the summer break will be given by Paul Rabbitts on ‘A Concise History of our Great British Public Parks’.
