St Laurence Church in Corringham is delighted to have been recognised by HAY as a community hub. The HAY (How Are You) Lincolnshire Pledge is a commitment by organisations to support mental health and wellbeing within the community. The church recently welcomed a visit from the Community Connector and discussed many new and exciting ideas for the future.
In November, the popular fortnightly coffee mornings will continue on Saturdays 1st, 15th and 29th, from 9.30am to 11.30am, offering tea, coffee, cakes and plenty of friendly conversation. The monthly bingo will take place on Wednesday 12th November at 2.00pm. The cost is £5.00 for four games, with confectionery and cash prizes, refreshments and a fun quiz during the half-time break. The atmosphere is always filled with laughter and good humour.
Viking Yoga has now joined the community hub, holding a Chair Yoga class every Friday from 10.00am to 11.00am. The church warmly welcomes instructor Angela to the community. The second of the church’s Christmas Craft Fayres will be held on Sunday 2nd November, from 10.00am to 1.00pm, offering a lovely opportunity to browse and buy festive handmade items.
The annual Service of Remembrance will take place on Tuesday 11th November at 10.45am, when the congregation will again be joined by children from the local school taking part in the service.
