Many thanks to everyone who came along to St Barnabas Hospice’s Cream Tea and Plant Sale, despite the weather! A good time was had by all and the cream teas were a huge success. Many thanks to all those who supported the day and/or who donated plants; in doing so you helped the charity raise £1,287.49. This is really fantastic and will be used for the continuing delivery of care and support by St Barnabas in local communities for those living with a life limiting or terminal illness; you are helping to make a real difference.
It was also lovely to see the Gainsborough Hospice so busy and people enjoying themselves and it would be great to see this more often. Every Thursday from 10.00am to 12.00pm, a Community Coffee Morning is held at the Hospice on Front Street, Morton, DN21 3AD. Entry is free and a warm welcome awaits everyone so why not call in and say ‘Hello’?
Their Coffee Morning on 4th July takes on a vintage theme; their usual delicious refreshments await and they will also have some vintage ‘twists’ and they would love you to join them for this!
The charity’s sincere and heartfelt thanks go to Councillor Sally Loates, Mayor of Gainsborough 2018/19, and Councillor Kenneth Wooley for their continuing support. Their incredible efforts raised £9,500 which included a ball kindly supported by Mark Smithson of J H Smithson and Son in memory of Mark’s father John; many thanks to all involved. Thanks also to the Clock House, Gainsborough for hosting an evening to celebrate this wonderful support.
Starting in August, St Barnabas would love you to join their Accumulator Challenge and ‘Get Nifty with Fifty’; the charity gives teams £50.00, and they then have three months to make this money ‘grow’ using innovative and fun ideas. This is great for team building, promoting your business or group whilst at the same time supporting your local hospice.
