Shout Out Mental Health Awareness Festival

by | 3 October 2021 | Community Event, Gainsborough, Health

Stepping Stone Theatre for Mental Health and the Gainsborough Trinity Foundation are holding a mental health celebration day event on Friday 8th October to coincide with World Mental Health Day (which is on 10th October).
‘Shout Out: Stop the Stigma Stop the Silence’ will be the biggest celebration of mental health the county has ever seen and is taking place at Roses Sports Ground in Gainsborough from 11.00am to 4.00pm.
As well as a full day of demonstrations and presentations, the two directors of Stepping Stone Theatre For Mental Health, Bill and Kate Rodgers, will be having all their hair shaved off at the same time, by their two sons! Harvey and Dominic are both in their early twenties and have no experience of hair dressing at all.
Neither Kate or Bill have had a haircut since lockdowns began, when they made the decision to let their hair grow and then have it cut at the event. They are donating their hair to the Little Princesses Trust, who make wigs for children with cancer. As well as this, they are going bald for Stepping Stone and will be hoping to raise funds for their charity. Please sponsor them at
There will be a huge variety of activities taking place at the event to celebrate the good things about mental health. They will feature laughtercize, burlesque, tai chi, drama, singing, freedom dancing, natureopathy, aromatherapy and much more. Many agencies will be represented, from the Night Life Crisis Café in Lincoln, mental health neighbourhood NHS teams, Lincolnshire Rural Support Network, Recovery College, Healthy Minds Lincolnshire, Armed Forces CAS, Stepping Stone Theatre for Mental Health and many more. There will be lots to see and lots to learn.
