It’s been a season of celebration, creativity, and community spirit at Gainsborough Men’s Shed – and there’s still plenty more to come!
A charity milestone
The Shed is now officially a registered CIO charity – an exciting step forward in its mission to grow, support, and welcome more members. This recognition strengthens future partnerships and ensures the group can continue to offer inclusive, hands-on activities for everyone.
Bingo, hampers and heartfelt thanks
The Shedders recently donated a prize hamper to Kings Entertainment Theatre for their Bingo Night, and the raffle proceeds were kindly returned to support the Shed. A huge thank you goes to everyone who took part – your generosity helps keep the hammers, laughter, and creativity flowing.
From kitchen to crafting corner
The Shed extends its gratitude to Gainsborough Kitchens for donating kitchen units that were being removed from a local property. Instead of heading to landfill, the cupboards and worktops have been transformed into storage and workspace for the Shed’s machines – a great example of community recycling and teamwork in action.
Calling all tiling heroes
The group is on the lookout for someone with tiling experience to help finish a toilet floor and splashback. If you’re handy and willing to lend a hand, please get in touch – they’d love to hear from you!
Tunes and togetherness
The Shedders band brought festive cheer to the Christmas Art4Life Fair at Morton Village Hall, and there’s more music on the way. The next Shed Shindig will take place on Wednesday 3rd December, from 1.00pm to 3.00pm at Marshalls Sports and Community Hall, Middlefield Lane, DN21 1UU, featuring singalong Christmas favourites from the Shedders.
Skills that save lives
Eight Shedders recently completed a Level 3 Award in Basic Life Support and Use of a Defibrillator, supported by Gainsborough Trinity Foundation. The Shed is proud to be building practical life-saving skills and confidence within the community.
Sewing success
The first sewing sessions proved a huge success, with participants proudly making their own tote bags. The next round is already fully booked, and more sewing and knitting workshops are being planned for 2026.
