The annual fireworks and bonfire display took place on 3rd November, provided by the club, taking place at Lea Park.
Many people gathered to watch the fine display of fireworks and photos taken to not really do the event justice.
A full twenty-minute display lit up the night sky and provided a burst of colour, that brightened up the evening for all concerned.
The club held a Guy competition and the winning entry was duly offered up to the bonfire for sacrifice cheered on by the winning makers. Next year it is expected that an even bigger entry to the competition will take place — watch this space.
The event was well served by a superb barbecue provided by the club and overseen by the club’s President Richard Barstow. Other stalls and sideshows were present for the further delights of those attending the event.
The club would like to offer its thanks to those who helped on the night to make the event the success it was. Special mention goes to Lea Parish Council for allowing the use of Lea Park. Others who deserve a mention, are LIVES for their first aid ministrations and to the ATC for their help, along with the Gainsborough Cubs who braved the evening selling toffee apples. To these and to all others that helped the club, we are most grateful and sends its thanks.
The event is due to take place next year on Saturday 2nd November. If you thought this year was good, then watch out for next year….plans are in the making at the moment.
