Gainsborough bellringers rose to the challenge and made a joyous sound on each day of the Coronation weekend.
In all, 14 ringers were involved, including two new recruits and four regular supporters from other towers. The new ringers performed together with the others for the first time after three months’ tuition, ‘learning the ropes’.
The bells sounded on Friday before and after the All Saints’ Tea Party, on Saturday afternoon following the Coronation Service, for the morning service on Sunday and again on the Coronation Bank Holiday.
Monday’s ringing included a special performance to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III: a Quarter Peal of Grandsire Triples, which took 47 minutes to complete.
