Retford Community Singers invite everyone to join them for an evening of uplifting singing, free of charge. The group meets at Grove Street Methodist Church on Tuesday evenings from 7.00pm to 8.30pm.
On Tuesday 6th May, the group will open its doors to all who would like to sing for an evening. They promise that participants will leave with their spirits lifted – they sing purely for the joy of it!
Retford Community Singers is a well-established community choir, known locally for its involvement in events such as Make Music Day and Retford Heritage Day. Under the direction of Janet Wood, this friendly and supportive group welcomes all who enjoy singing, regardless of experience. Many who initially doubted their singing ability have since joined. There is no need to read music, as Janet teaches everything by ear, although lyrics are provided.
The group rarely performs publicly, so there is no pressure to attend regularly. Payment is only required for the sessions attended.
