Following their sell-out debut appearance at Trinity Arts Centre, Gainsborough last year, Quo Connection are returning by popular demand on Saturday 7th March 2026. Their performance promises to once again capture the energy and spirit of classic Status Quo that delighted audiences previously.
On this occasion, the band will have ex-Status Quo drummer Jeff Rich playing for them.
A brief history of Quo Connection
If you missed their feature in ‘Gainsborough Life’ last year, here’s a concise history of this exceptional tribute band. The group comprises former members of John Coghlan’s Quo (JCQ), which included Status Quo’s original drummer. After John Coghlan stepped back from touring in 2022, the remaining members formed Quo Connection to continue the band’s legacy.
In 2023, Mick Hughes, Pete Mace, and Gainsborough’s own Rick Chase reformed under the new name of Quo Connection.
The meaning behind the name
The name Quo Connection reflects the members’ longstanding associations with Status Quo. Their collaborative history includes working with John Coghlan, the late Alan Lancaster (original bassist), Richie Malone (former guitarist), Bob Young (ex-tour manager and blues harp player), and Jeff Rich (ex-drummer).
Rick Chase: Gainsborough’s own
Rick Chase, singer, bass player and guitarist, was born in Gainsborough. He began his musical career as a bassist in the local rock band ‘Dodger’ before becoming a lead vocalist, performing internationally with various groups and also working as a session vocalist for record labels and producers. Rick spent seven years as a member of JCQ, and his powerful bass playing combined with his outstanding vocals are a highlight not to be missed.
