Pop in to the Pop-Up!

by | 14 April 2023 | Community Event, Gainsborough

Every so often, something special happens at The Butler’s Pantry in Lea Park: a Pop-Up Pantry serving delicious homemade cakes, sausage rolls and drinks opens to the public.

If you like Millionaire Shortbread, Rock Cakes and a traditional Victoria Sponge, you will be spoilt for choice. The lovely ladies from Lea Parish Council bake with care to share their tasty treats and raise essential funds for village projects.

While you’re there why not take a stroll through Lea Park to Knaith Woods? Spanning over two miles of open fields and woodland areas, this trail is easy-going and relatively flat, making it perfect for the whole family. The park provides several picnic benches where you can sit down and relax afterwards with a bake and a brew.

The first event this year sponsors The Lea Park 50th Anniversary Festival which opens for free on 9th September. Planning is progressing and there will be food stalls, live music, archery, wall-climbing, donkey rides, vintage tractors, ceilidh and much, much more.

Raffle tickets at £2.50 a book will be on sale at the Pop-Up Pantry with a chance to win three fabulous top cash prizes of £100, £75 and £50. Please show your support by buying a book of raffle tickets. It’s a piece of cake as contactless payments are gladly accepted!

Visit the Pop-Up Pantry on Sunday 16th April, 2.00pm to 4.00pm at Lea Park, DN21 5JE. Everyone is warmly welcome and for more Lea updates, visit the Facebook page ‘Lea Life’.
