Organist publishes COVID-inspired piano compositions

Fiona Law, Misterton Parish Church’s organist, has just published her first book of piano compositions. Fiona is also a music teacher, woodwind player, and classical guitarist. She explains how the coronavirus pandemic got her composing: “I started in the first lockdown in May 2020. I suddenly found myself with time on my hands and decided to write a few piano pieces. I now have nearly 40 titles finished, a YouTube channel, and other books waiting to be published.”
Sadly, Fiona’s father died of coronavirus in April 2020. The book is dedicated to her Dad. She also gives special thanks to her twin sister, Felicity Atkinson. Like Fiona, she is a musician but has been composing for piano for many years. She, too, has a YouTube channel—and inspired Fiona to have a go. Fiona’s first collection is entitled Piano Pictures volume 1. The pieces are of an intermediate standard and would suit a player from Grade 3 upwards and be good sight-reading for those of more advanced grades. Piano Pictures is available from Amazon at £10.00 (paperback) or £4.99 for the Kindle version.
