Local online retailer Muldale were spurred on to complete 50 Acts of Kindness in 2020 after their team came together to send a big collection of items to Gainsborough Food Bank in December. They decided that they wanted their company ethos to be rooted in the concept of ‘Paying It Forward’, where if you can do a good deed or help people in need to prosper, they in turn pass that kindness onto others.
An initial meeting with Jane Harvey, the leader of a local initiative called Gainsborough Wishes, put the company in touch with lots of local charities and organisations that desperately needed funding or more promotion for their causes. Their first Act of Kindness was to become a sponsor for Climbing Against Cancer, a national charity that is close to the hearts of Muldale’s directors. Subsequent acts have all been local with a gift of products to sell to Gainsborough Wishes, the Gainsborough Heart Support Group, and the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance store.
20 flasks were given away on Valentine’s Day alongside a donation for PAACT, a local charity that supports families raising autistic children. Lisa Bond received a HydroFlask and a donation towards help for suicide prevention. She ran a very impressive 5k every single day of March! Muldale have lots of Acts of Kindness planned for the coming months but they are also very open to new ideas.
They want to upcycle items that are returned to their warehouse, pursue environmental causes, and aid people in need in the local area. They have the resources and the passion to help people and they would love you to get in touch if you think they can help. Just email marketing@muldale.com with your ideas.
