Now that the Village Hall is fully booked again its costs are covered by the booking fees. Entertainment evenings bring in extra money, so it has been decided to donate some of the profits to a charity (preferably local).
Following the recent Quiz Night, a donation has been made to the Salvation Army to help the vulnerable and those less fortunate in the local area.
If anyone has any suggestions of other local charities that would benefit from a future donation, please get in touch.
Watch out for details of the events in the Village Hall next year. An entertainment evening is planned for March, and Tabletop Sales will recommence then too.
Morton Village Hall Committee is always looking out for new members. Duties aren’t onerous but the Hall has to have a Committee to run it, and hopefully members will assist with organised events during the year. So, if you have a bit of spare time and are interested in your community, please consider joining; the committee is a friendly group and would welcome new members. Meetings are held roughly every six weeks, with the next meeting on 12th January at 6.30pm in the Village Hall. Please contact secretary Phil on 01427 610130 if you would like to come, or just turn up on the night.
Planning for next year’s Morton Feast is going well. If anyone would like to help with this, the next meeting is on 19th January, 6.30pm in the Village Hall.
