Coronation Weekend
Remember the wonderful coffee morning at the Village Hall last year for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee? This year Morton Village Hall is repeating the event to celebrate the coronation of King Charles.
Put the event in your diary for Friday 5th May at 11.00am. Refreshments and a great array of homemade cakes will all be free!
Scarecrow Competition
Put your thinking caps on to design the best ever scarecrow! In keeping with recent events, the theme this year will be ‘Anything Royal’.
Your scarecrow masterpiece needs to be in position ready from Saturday 8th July, and kept in position until late on Sunday 23rd July. Entry forms will be available at 1 Southlands Drive from the beginning of June. Judging will be online or text by those who have seen the scarecrows.
Badapple
The Badapple Theatre Company makes a welcome return to the Village Hall on 10th June. This is a touring theatre company and if you haven’t seen them before you have missed a treat.
The show is called Eddie and the Gold Tops, a musical comedy suitable for all the family. Tickets cost £8.00, £4.00 for under 16s and a family ticket is £20.00. To book in advance contact Cynthia on 07523 382696 or Lucille on 07801 750682, or pay on the door.
Feastival
Following the very enjoyable evening on 1st April with local singer Smudge, fundraising is well underway for the spectacular Feastival on Morton Community Field in the summer of 2024.
The next event is more sedate: an Afternoon Tea with Pimm’s or a cuppa and lots of lovely afternoon tea treats on Saturday 3rd June from 2.30pm to 5.00pm. The cost is £12.50 per person. Table-Top Sale
For the bargain hunters among you, there will be another Table-Top Sale in the Village Hall on Sunday 21st May, 2.00pm to 4.00pm. To book your table please contact Tracey on 07787 581896; tables £5.00.
Go along and have a browse. Refreshments will be available. This is a fundraiser for the Feastival so please give it your support and pick up a bargain at the same time!
