Morton Ballroom Dance Group

by | 24 November 2025 | Gainsborough, Group meeting, Local Experiences, Music, Social Group

The Morton Ballroom Dance Group restarted in September. Their dances are held once per month at Morton Village Hall from 2.00pm to 4.30pm, which includes a 20-minute refreshment break. Each dancer pays £5.00 per event – including the cost of refreshments.

Dancing is to CDs, the music being selected for dancers to enjoy the dancing experience. Ballroom dances include Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot and Ballroom Tango and they also include the Latin dances of Rumba and Cha Cha Cha. In addition, they include two Sequence dances and two Olde Tyme Dances. Everyone is welcome, no matter what standard they are at. ‘Strictly’ they are not – but members do enjoy their dancing. They also like a chat to catch up with news of what others in the group have been doing! They hold a small raffle, with prizes being donated by those attending. Profits go into the running of the dances and the provision of refreshments.
Dances for the rest of 2025 take place on Thursdays 20th November and 18th December – their Christmas Dance.

Find out more from Paul Willcock (organiser) on paul@paulwillcock.com or text on 07581 531595. New members, no matter what your dancing skills, are always very welcome to join – they like to think they are a friendly bunch! They are not a dance class.
