Morton Ballroom Dance Group’s Christmas Dance was held on 14th December, with much of the recorded music having a festive theme. There were a good number of dancers present.
The interval tea and biscuits were reformed for this special Christmas Dance to include sandwiches, mince pies, sausage rolls and a fully iced Christmas Cake. In fact – a very festive spread!
There were two ‘spot’ prizes, one in each half and a prize for the best festive outfit. This went to John Thomson for his Santa outfit. To round off the festivities, each couple received a tin of short bread biscuits and a Christmas card as well as crackers.
The group showed their appreciation, with the gift of a voucher, for the help they have received all through the year from Jean and Derek Hall, who make the teas each month and to the Caretaker, Tracey Wood, who helps with chairs and the music system.
The Dances are held on the third Thursday of each month, starting at 2.00pm and finishing at 4.30pm, with a 25-minute interval for refreshments and a chat.
This is a friendly group which welcomes new dancers of all levels of ability. The venue is Morton Village Hall, Walkerith Road, Morton, Gainsborough. Tickets are £5.00 per person – but with occasional unannounced free dances for regular attendees. There is also a raffle with prizes donated by dancers.
The next two dates are 15th February and 21st March. The Dance Group looks forward to welcoming you then.
