28th May saw the Morton Afternoon Tea Ballroom Dance Group celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. With 32 members present, the atmosphere was great for the dancing and for the generous buffet laid on for this special occasion.
There was even a guest of honour when Her Majesty arrived just after the dancing started – well, a life-sized cut-out of her turned up! This added a lot of fun to the occasion, with many dancers having selfies taken. A group photo also had her in the centre – the Morton Ballroom Dance group with their Guest of Honour!
The Morton Ballroom Afternoon Tea Dance is an informal dance which takes place in Morton Village Hall from 2.00pm until 4.30pm. Dancing is to CDs and is mostly Ballroom and Latin with some Sequence and Old-Time dances included. All are welcome to go along and join this informal group and participate for a dance fee of £5.00 per person. This includes a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits during the 20-minute interval from 3.00pm.
