There is now a nucleus of dancers who attend the Morton Ballroom Afternoon Tea Dance Group’s dances and with the changes in Hall hire times the group is now solvent.
They have been able to have a free dance on one occasion so far and look forward to being able to repeat this. They have also been able to provide extra refreshments and in June the dancers were provided with ice creams as the weather was so hot!
Despite the small but viable number, dancers do enjoy the dancing. The social element is also of great importance to all who attend, many of whom have been dancing at Morton for 15 years or more. The group would welcome any new members who wish to join – every third Thursday of the month.
There is no dance in August, so the next will be 21st September. Dances start at 2.00pm, finish at 4.30pm and include a refreshment break. Dancing is to CDs, mainly Ballroom and Latin, with the addition of a couple of Sequence and Old-Time dances in each session.
