Misterton Christmas lights switch-on and competition

by | 27 November 2021 | Community Event, Community Focus, Gainsborough

Christmas begins in Misterton by switching on the village Christmas lights on Church Meadow at 6.00pm on Friday 3rd December. Santa will be visiting, the Salvation Army will be playing Christmas carols, there will be stalls and other attractions, a grand prize raffle – and a free drink for everyone, thanks to the Parish Council. Anyone wanting a stall should contact Nikki on 01427 891629.
This year’s Christmas competition, run by the Parish Council, is to design a Christmas card. Everyone – individuals, organisations, and businesses – is invited to enter the competition: design and make a Christmas card in any medium (painting, drawing, photography, computer-aided design, etc) and include a greeting inside. The card should fit in any standard-sized envelope. Put your name and contact details on the back of the card. There is no entry fee but there will be a prize for the best exhibit by a child (under 16) living in Misterton, and a prize for the best entry by a Misterton entrant over 16 years of age.
Take your entries to the Parish Church between 2.00pm and 4.00pm on Friday 3rd December. The display of Christmas cards will be in the Parish Church that evening during the Christmas lights switch-on at 6.00pm. There’s another chance to see the Christmas Card competition entries on Saturday 4th December (during the Parish Church’s annual Christmas Coffee Morning from 10.00am to 12.00pm).
