Gainsborough Life reader Emma Farrington is taking on a daring charity challenge in April — she will be swimming with sharks to raise money for The James Bulger Memorial Trust. Emma, who used to live in the Merseyside area where James Bulger was abducted, chose the worthwhile charity as a beneficiary when deciding to set herself a series of challenges as part of her New Year’s Resolutions.
She said: “I wanted to make 2019 a memorable year, doing things with my family and just taking opportunities that come my way… and here I find myself taking this opportunity to swim with sharks next year… oh did I mention that I will not be in a safety cage?
“Should I manage to not actually get eaten I’ll be able to look back at the end of the year and know that I took these opportunities and raised money along the way for the James Bulger Memorial Trust, allowing them to keep helping and supporting families.”
Emma has already raised more than £500 for the charity but is already planning further events to boost her fundraising totals. To sponsor her and follow her progress visit her Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/fundraising/emma-farrington6?
