Volunteers running Misterton Library will hold a coffee morning to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support on Saturday 26th October from 9.30am to 12.30pm. Everyone is welcome, whether a library user or not — to go and have a look around, have a cup of tea or coffee and cake, and get to know the friendly volunteers.
The library has a wide range of books and talking CDs and volunteers are also able to order books and entertainment items from the main central libraries.
Misterton Library is community-run, partnered with Inspire, and run by a group of friendly, welcoming volunteers. The library is open from 2.30pm to 5.00pm, Tuesday to Thursday, and from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Saturdays. Volunteers now serve a cuppa to those visiting the library while they browse the shelves or use the public-access computers.
The library is central for the surrounding villages of West Stockwith, Beckingham, Walkeringham, Everton, and Gringley and welcomes new members.
The library is looking for more volunteers to expand the service and increase opening hours. Anyone interested in volunteering should contact The Misterton Centre and Library on 01427 890646 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively, just call in and pick up some information. Not only does volunteering help to keep the library open, it is also an opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, meet new people, and make new friends.
