The Lea Women’s Institute is not for shying away from good causes, and the ladies were proud to shine a spotlight on the fantastic fundraising achieved at their Macmillan Coffee Morning.
Hosted at Lea Village Hall, there were a multitude of stalls including books, clothes, bric-a-brac and cakes. The event was very well attended by the local community in support of this vital cause.
Macmillan understands how cancer can affect people’s whole lives – health, money, family, job, everything. And, after more than 100 years of caring, they know that the most important thing is to treat people as individuals, not patients.
The dedicated ladies raised £700 towards the charity and take this opportunity to thank everyone who played their part in achieving this fantastic result.
After all this hard work, a little entertainment is deserved. A date for your diary: the Trentside Singers will be in fine voice on Sunday 3rd December at Upton and Kexby Village Hall from 3.00pm. Everyone is welcome to go along for the carol service and mince pies.
The Lea Women’s Institute meets on the first Thursday of every month and there is so much on offer through the vast wider network. It’s everything from sausage-making to forensic science workshops. For more information contact Jackie Summers on 01427 615382 or email@example.com.
