Times may have been hard during the Victorian era, but it was a period of invention for the parlour game affectionately known as ‘Beetle’.

Elegant in its simplicity, the aim is to be the first player to draw a complete beetle. The body parts you draw are determined by the throw of a single dice. The Lea Women’s Institute were invested in finding a low-cost way to enjoy the austerity of January, and the ladies had a wealth of fun!

For those seeking entertainment, the upcoming guest speaker is Ken Robertson, who worked for the BBC. With his amusing tales from the world of media, talent, and celebrity, he is sure to raise spirits and bring a smile.

The event will take place on Thursday 6th February at 7.00pm at Lea Village Hall, DN21 5JA.
